David Court

the military justice expert that regularly consults with Court & Carpenter. While he is no longer practicing law he maintains a close connection with our lawyers and staff. Mr. Court provides invaluable advice on courts-martial by drawing upon his past record of courtroom success. Mr. Court has successfully defended service members (from E-1 to O-6) throughout Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East, through the end of the Cold War, Gulf One and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  His cases have been reported on 60 Minutes ("An Honest Mistake"), CNN ("The Canal Killings"), and, over the decades of his practice, repeatedly in the Stars and Stripes, which even included a profile of him in 2007 entitled "Court for the Defense."

Military Justice practitioners, both prosecution and defense, have frequently sought his advice and opinion on their cases and he has often been asked to present trial advocacy topics at their Continuing Education Conferences, both in Europe and CONUS. He was honored to be asked to speak at the Military Judge's Conference in Alabama, which was attended by military judges from all branches of the Service, as well as from the military appellate courts.

Although not a "Talking Head", Mr. Court's reputation for knowledge of military legal issues causes journalists, both American and German, to contact him for a plain language explanations of legal matters appearing in their stories, both print and radio. Mr. Court lives in Frankfurt, Germany.
